Join us as we venture to our mystery destination where we will enjoy an evening meal. Settle back in your comfortable compartment that dates back to the mid 20th century. These carriages were built at the Newport Workshops, they show true craftsmanship right down to the last screw.

These carriages have been lovingly restored by the dedicated team of Steamrail Volunteers.

On Train Service
Our on-train facilities include kiosks, which stock a wide range of light refreshments, sandwiches, souvenirs and hot and cold drinks. A licensed bar will also be open serving a range of wine, beers and spirits. Our courteous train officers will be on hand throughout the journey to provide any assistance to ensure an enjoyable and safe day.

After departing Southern Cross Station, we watch the winter sun set as we race through the suburbs to our mystery dinner destination. Along the way, we could travel through a long tunnel, over a long bridge or over a line that rarely sees a passenger train. Who knows, it’s all part of the mystery.

There will be a DJ playing all your favourites in our club car Moorabool, so you can have a pre-dinner dance if you wish to do so. On arrival at our destination, we will walk a short distance to our venue, where you will enjoy a two course meal.

After your meal, we will walk back to meet our train which will then take us back to Melbourne. Once again, there will be our dance car on the train for people to have an after dinner dance if you so desire or just sit back and relax while we travel backto the City.

First class option with opening windows has a limit of a maximum of 24 passengers.
